Async not working in TFS 2013 Update 2

May 5, 2014 at 11:45 PM
I installed TfsEventWorkflows-2013-2-0.11.41741.0 and can get synchronous workflows to work, but I can't get async workflows to work. When I check the job history, I see that the result is "ExtensionNotFound" (when I query the tbl_JobHistory table in the TFS_Configuration database the result is 6). When I check the Job Definition, the extension is listed as "artiso.TFSEventWorkflows.TFSEventWorkflowsServerPlugin.WorkflowRunnerJob" I have verified that I have the artiso.TFSEventWorkflows.TFSEventWorkflowsServerPlugin.dll and config file in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Team Foundation Server 12.0\Application Tier\ TFSJobAgent\plugins folder as required.

What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi John,

can you check whether you have the following dll's in the plugin folder

artiso.TFSEventWorkflows.TFSEventWorkflowsServerPlugin.dll
artiso.TFSEventWorkflows.TFSEventWorkflowsServerPlugin.dll.config (with adjusted logging configuration)
artiso.TFSEventWorkflows.LoggingLib.dll
log4net.dll

if you have configured a concrete workflow using activities you also may Need

artiso.TFSEventWorkflows.TFSActivitiesLib.dll

Verify that the DLL's in the Plugins Folder are "unblocked". TFS JobAgent does not load "blocked" DLL's while the TFS WebService does.
